Phase 2 · Break
Day 14: Start with the easiest platform
“This was one of the most easy ones to get rid of.”
Sanket quit Facebook first, back in 2018, because it never hooked him much. Begin where leaving costs least.
Early wins matter. Allcott's experiment found that after only four weeks off Facebook, people kept using it less even once they were free to return. A break can reset defaults. Rank your platforms from easiest to hardest to leave, and start at the bottom of the ladder.
